Groups marked □ hold old scripts, music signs, and mahjong tiles that some devices cannot show. They look fine here but may turn into boxes in the app you paste them into.

A box means your device has no font for that symbol. The ones people use most sit near the top, and blocks that may not render carry a warning.
Combining marks attach to the letter before them. The list shows each one on a dotted circle (◌), and copying gives you the mark on its own, without the circle.
It is how Unicode groups characters by kind. Arrows sit with arrows and shapes with shapes, so you can scan a whole family of similar marks at once.
